The beau mission
My mission is to support women through their motherhood journeys - during the excitement and anxiety of pregnancy, in those heavy days of the new-born love, and throughout the incredibly rewarding, yet often challenging stages of learning to be a parent.
As a mum of three, I know how tough each of those stages can be, and founded Beau-Therapy & beau-babies to offer prenatal and postnatal massage treatments to new and veteran mama's to help encourage relaxation as you navigate your new normal.
FAQ's
Is massage safe during pregnancy?
It is recommended that women wait until their second trimester for any type of massage, which is why I only offer massage services from 14 weeks onwards.
From the second trimester, as long as you have a low-risk pregnancy and the consent from your midwife or healthcare professional, massage is safe and can continue right up until you give birth.
Where and when will my massage take place?
Your massage will take place in the comfort of your own home (available within the Bradford area).
All you need is some space, in a lower ground room and I will bring everything we need to make the perfect relaxation zone.
If space is an issue at your house, or you'd prefer a change of scenery, you are more than welcome to have your treatment at my home in Bradford 4.
Midweek appointment times are available via Fresha booking link, evening and weekend appointments are available upon request.
What oil is used during massage?
I believe using the correct and safest oils for pregnancy, postpartum and baby massage is absolutely vital!
Over the years as a massage therapist, I have researched many safe oils and used quite a few during massage treatments, but none have come close to the overall high standard and quality of MeYu. Hence why I know MeYu Aromatherapy is perfect for my clients and now my only massage oil supplier.
Caroline uses an evidence-based approach and keeps up to date with the growing number of research studies now being done as we see essential oil use increasing in healthcare settings such as hospitals and hospices as well as for personal use and in the beauty therapy sector.
MeYu essential oils are suitable for all skin types - please note essential oils are recommended for babies over 3 months old.

Baby massage is suitable from birth as long as there are no complex health issues. Baby massage classes are recommended for babies 6 weeks and older. These classes provide a wonderful opportunity for parents to bond with their babies through gentle massage techniques. Not only does baby massage promote relaxation and better sleep for your little one, but it also helps in fostering a deeper connection between parent and child.

Baby massage is recommended when baby is in a calm, 'quiet alert state'. Depending on their feeding routine, this could be straight after their feed or 20/ 30 minutes after their feed, as not to interfere with their feeding routine or bring their milk back up.
If baby requires a feed during class, that is absolutely fine, you can nurse/ feed your baby, and once baby is settled you can mime the rest of the massage techniques with your baby, or you can use 'Ethel' our beau-babies demo doll, if your baby goes to sleep after their feed.
Using the right oil for massaging your baby is very important during class and once baby massage training is complete.
We all know how delicate a baby's skin is, so using the right oil is a must.
Using a vegetable oil that is high in Linoleic acid is highly recommended as it's an essential fatty acid that helps to protect the barrier element of baby's skin.
During beau-babies baby massage 5 week course, a bottle of 100% organic Sunflower oil (optional) is provided for you to use during each class and to practice with at home.
A patch test will be carried out on both parent and baby during week 1, to ensure the oil is safe to use on baby's delicate skin.
N.B. if your baby has allergies and has a prescribed cream to use to moisturise their skin, please do bring that to use in class.
Please also note any nut based oils should not be brought to use during class, in case of any allergies/ sensitives - thank you for understanding.
beau-babies class duration is between 45-60 minutes, giving us plenty of time to settle in to class, learn the massage sequence and recap any movements, also lots of time to break off for cuddles, nursing/ feeding and changing if needed.
The course will take 5 weeks, which will allow each body part to be massaged weekly, at a steady pace as not to overwhelm baby or parent/ caregiver.
Weekly lesson structure:-

Week 2 - Tummy (extra trapped wind, constipation and colic sequence)
Week 3 - Chest, arms and hands
